Hello, fellow campaigners of the writing world! A. F. Kopp here with some exciting news… November is coming up and I know a lot of people participate in NaNoWriMo (which stands for National Novel Writing Month). And though, I really don’t participate in NaNo anymore, I’ve found an exciting alternative for Christian writers… King’s Daughters’ Writing Camp. It opens every November, March, and July for writers to unite and WRITE their books! Visit the website at http://kingsdaughterswritingcamp.com/ to explore the awesomeness that KDWC has to offer.
Writers from all over the world have joined! With participants from over 12 countries and over half the States, it’s a huge blessing to get to know other female Christian authors/writers and glorify God together.
This November will be my third time participating (I also joined their camps in the late spring/early summer), and I’m super excited about the awesome community. You are placed in a “cabin” with an “Aunt” as your counselor and you get to write with each other, share testimonies, and just have plain fun!
Though I do plan on reaching 30k on my Uncitizens project, I’m not going to prioritize it completely. I want to be able to fully focus on my full-time job, my “stay-at-home” part-time job, and publishing my book. I am just excited that there are a lot of people there for accountability once I do sit down to write.
Cool things to do at camp?
I love the writing sprints that I can do with others. For a dedicated amount of time, I can focus on something (writing my story, a blog post, or even prep something) and get it done WITH other people at camp. And at the end, we share how much we got done. As someone who is super competitive, I’ve gotten quite a lot written thanks to the timed and contest-like air regarding the sprints.
I hope that you guys are interested in joining! Applications close December 2nd so apply now!
Thank you for reading! I hope to see you at camp!
Salutations, fellow adventurers!
Respectfully,
