Hello, fellow campaigners of the writing world! I just finished the fourth and final week of the King’s Daughters’ Writing Club and I wanted to share with you my writing journey!
March 22nd, 2023
508 words. Wrote during nap time and a bit on my break. I had to stop to get work done for the classroom, though. The paper wasn’t going to cut itself. I am finally getting to the part where the stone rolls, though. Jekkh’s packing up, the adventure just beginning.

March 23rd, 2023
Today was super exhausting. It all was a blur. I almost fell asleep in the car on my break (not driving it, obviously). Also almost fell asleep during naptime. Didn’t have coffee today.

March 24th, 2023
I’m gonna need to write almost 900 words to get caught up. Le sigh. I will have to work doubly hard to get the goal in time. Work has really been taking a toll on me. And it’s more complicated now that I’m at the part of writing where I need to look at my phone to read what I already wrote.
I have had more energy today. I’ve worked a full week (40 hours in daycare) so I’m exhausted, but I was able to get some things done around the house to help out my family. May or may not have been procrastinating.
I wrote a lot though. Now I need to write 700 a day. I hope to write a lot tomorrow on a road trip to St. Louis. I left this session on a slight cliffhanger (well, for me since I know the big plot point is literally a page away), so I will probably be motivated to write. Hopefully.

March 25th, 2023
I went to St. Louis today and had a lot of fun! Ate good food and got my new favorite jacket. It’s a blank letter jacket in my school colors!!! I was like MINE. It’s also leather on the sleeves.
On the drive there I wrote a little over 300 words, but on the way back I wrote another 700ish, reaching precisely 1k. Chapter 9 is finished with Jekkh questioning everything. Perfect.
Today, I also created some art for the chapter beginnings to get an idea of what I want the formatting to look like.

I sat outside and wrote over 1.5k words. I feel bad for skipping to Camrun’s pov after a lot of stuff is left undone from the last chapter, but I gotta get Camrun in a similar boat as Jekkh: totally out of his comfort zone and doubting everything he has ever known to be true.

I wrote over 1k! I Sat in my car during my break and then after dinner wrote the rest. I’m starting to get some of the timelines down for the alternating chapters, but have decided to hold off until I finish writing and am okay with having to switch up chapter locations.

March 29th, 2023
Today is the day of celebration! I reached 20k! During my break, I sat outside again to write and then on the trip to church. I wasn’t able to count my words until later in the evening when I got home, but I am so glad to be done.
I’m back in Jekkh’s POV and basically took what I wrote for the chapter from the previous draft, BUT I had to change some details for consistency, and I feel like it turned out better anyway. So, Chapter 11 is finished and I’m super excited to see where this book goes. But, I am taking a bit of a break from writing new words so that I can get other projects done. Like make a logo for my mom and then work on music video stuff for Terce.

Edited the rest of Chapter 3 onto the laptop. It was only 599 words, so it wasn’t much.

Wrap-Up
Though I faced a few setbacks since at the last minute I switched over to writing by hand rather than a laptop, I found that I enjoyed the writing process a lot more. I came out with better words and was able to slow down and think things through. 20k words may not be a lot of words (for me, at least), but I am very happy with what I came out with.
This is a day late cuz yesterday was really busy, BUT hey, it’s still out, isn’t it?
