Hello, fellow campaigners of the writing world! This week I want to share with you my mood board for the Hope of Hattie Phelan.

Decided to finally make a mood board for THOHP. Though I already have a Pinterest board, I thought a more condensed and intentional mood board would do well for me to make.
The first painting is of a girl sitting, hand on her chin. This I chose to represent Hattie at the contemplative moments she always has throughout the book. I mean, who blames her? She has a lot on her plate and a ton to think about.
Below that is a painting of fields with trees. Though I grew up in Illinois (it can be a lot flatter where I grew up), I based the book in Iowa. I have driven through Iowa a couple times and the rolling hills with fields are so beautiful. So, this picture perfectly represents how I imagine the area which Hattie is located.
Of course, there are the character arts drawn by the wonderful OGANYTHING. Wally and Hattie. I love them so much.
There is the Oscar Wilde quote which kinda sums up the internal struggles of Hattie. She learns of how bad things can be turned to good.
Lastly in the top, right-hand corner is the book cover I made for it. It needs a few alterations, BUT it’s the basic design I was going for.
That’s all for today, so I hope you enjoyed it!
Salutations, fellow adventurers!
Respectfully,
