Hello, fellow campaigners of the writing world! I am excited to say that my book has reached its second draft! I think I have updated you all on my social media, but I wanted to make a more in-depth post about it.
So, as of May 17th, I finished the second draft of my book! Just saying, this is the farthest I have gotten in any book-writing adventure. Out of the very few times, I even finished the first draft, I never liked the book enough to edit it–instead rewriting the whole thing with a different plot. But, here I am with a whole new draft! This time I ordered a copy from blurb (an 8×10 inch trade book) to edit instead of three spiralbound books. It was much cheaper, too!

I am super excited to delve into editing with this book. This time, my idea is to read it aloud to one of my siblings so that I can edit it while I go. I catch more mistakes by reading aloud than by rereading it. But I sadly am holding off editing it until I get some more time between the times I pick the book up. My goal is to start editing in August after I try to finish another book in July for Camp NaNoWriMo! I will be writing another post about the next book I am writing on the 22nd of June so mark your calendars!
Also, if you want to get some awesome exclusive content please sign up for my mailing list! Upon first joining you get the first three chapters of my newest draft of the Hope of Hattie Phelan, as well as a short story set in Regency England (which is what my newest WIP is about, hint hint (so if you want a premise of my WIP, sign up for my mailing list)). After joining, I will send monthly newsletters which focus on a subject that I will talk about in regards to writing, my books, my life, and my faith. It’s super fun to write them so I hope you will enjoy it!
Thank you guys so much for reading my post! If you want to talk about it or message me, my handle on Instagram and Facebook is @afkoppauthor.
